Professional Course In International Education

Course Description

This course is created to widen participants’ scope and approach toward teaching and learning So that, their practices match the most recent international trends in education. It is designed for teachers who are not familiar and have not worked in international education environments.

The course provides teachers with fundamental concepts and techniques that are required to fulfill international standards in a studied subject. It gives a good opportunity to have a deep understanding for the international education systems and how they are different from our national system. However, it is considered a professional development course in general for teachers who keen to develop their strategies and teaching practices. 

At the end of the course, trainees will complete a curriculum guide for a selected part of their own subject and grade. Trainees will also plan and carry out a practical demo lesson. 

In support of this expectation, a daily assignment and positive participation in discussion are very important to reach course goals. Trainees are to read and prepare for next day tasks. Sessions will be founded on direct instruction, discussion, active construction and presentation of teacher practices. Trainees are recommended to accomplish assigned tasks during each session.

Course Objectives

By the end of the course teachers will be able to:

  1. Recognize characteristics of international education.
  2. Recognize and use terminologies and most used concepts of international education.

3. Differentiate between international systems such as IGCSE, American diploma, IB… etc.
4. Use positive and supportive teaching techniques.
5. Design modern strategies of teaching to maintain students’ interest for learning.
6. Design his curriculum guide according to international standards, benchmarks, scope and sequence.
7. Use effective assessment to improve students’ learning and teaching practices.
8. Develop assessment methods appropriate for instructional decisions.
9. Communicate assessment results to students, parents, and other educators.
10. Plan lessons according to international guidance. 
11. Implement digital resources on his lesson plan by augmented reality and online applications.
12. Write his CV in a way to cover his shortage experience in international education and be prepared for interviews.

Assessment of learning outcomes:

At the end of the course teachers will be assessed as following:

Continual assessment, which includes daily assignments and discussions

Holding a Master’s degree in International Education

 from American International College, Springfield, Massachusetts, USA, Essam has consistently demonstrated a commitment to advancing educational standards across the globe.
His academic credentials are further bolstered by a Diploma in Educational Technology from Fukuoka Education University in Kyushu, Japan, and a 60-hour credit course in Essentials of Quality Education from the Mountbatten Institute in New York, USA. Additionally, he holds a Lead Auditor Certificate from IRCA and has completed a Training of Trainers (TOT) course accredited by El-Mansora University.

Experience

With over 25 years of experience in teaching, supervision, management, training, and consultancy, Essam Eissa has established himself as a leader in educational development. 

His experience includes 13 years as a business developer in education both in Egypt and abroad, during which he established three national schools, two British schools, and one American school.
As an expert in feasibility studies of education, Essam has a deep understanding of the educational landscape and what it takes to create institutions that thrive and inspire.
